Ingredients
Why a slow-dissolving strip is designed to reach more of the mouth than chews and powders — and the research behind the ingredients inside.
The Problem
Most Dental Products Only Clean What They Touch
Dental chews and powders contact the teeth a dog is actively chewing with, then are swallowed. That leaves the gum line, the spaces between teeth, and the back molars largely untouched — exactly where plaque and odor-causing bacteria tend to build up most. Prodogi strips are designed to adhere to the teeth and gum line and dissolve slowly, mixing with saliva to carry their natural active ingredients across more of the mouth.
The Ingredients
What’s Inside, and Why
Each ingredient is included for its researched role in supporting a healthy oral environment. The descriptions below summarize published research on these compounds. Individual results may vary.
Bromelain
An enzyme extract from pineapple. Research suggests it may help support a balanced oral environment and reduce the ability of bacteria to adhere to tooth enamel and gum tissue.
Spirulina
A nutrient-rich microalgae. Research suggests its naturally occurring compounds may help support gum tissue health and a cleaner mouth environment.
Green Tea (Decaffeinated)
A source of EGCG, a naturally occurring antioxidant compound studied for its role in supporting oral hygiene and a balanced oral environment.
Natural Beta-Caryophyllene
A naturally occurring terpenoid found in clove, black pepper, and hemp. Studied for its role in supporting oral hygiene and a cleaner oral environment.
Green Apple Extract
Helps stimulate saliva flow to naturally rinse away food debris, and contributes naturally occurring antioxidant compounds that may support oral health.
Vitamin B Complex & Peppermint
B vitamins support tissue health; peppermint contributes naturally occurring compounds studied for their role in supporting fresh breath and a balanced oral environment.
Our Testing
Product-Level Testing
Beyond the published research on our ingredients, we conducted our own product-level testing. In a standardized two-week evaluation, dogs using Prodogi strips were assessed against dogs using a typical dental supplement, with breath and oral-bacteria measures taken at the start and end of the period. In our evaluation, dogs using Prodogi showed improvement in breath freshness and a reduction in oral bacteria over the two weeks. Individual results vary, and this testing reflects our own internal evaluation rather than an independent or peer-reviewed clinical trial. Full methodology is available on request at info@prodogi.com.
The Mechanism
Why the Delivery Method Matters
Coverage. By dissolving across the oral cavity rather than being swallowed quickly, a strip is designed to make contact with more surfaces than chewed or powdered formats — including areas chews and powders routinely miss.
Contact time. Slow dissolution is intended to extend the contact time between the active compounds and the oral surfaces, including harder-to-reach posterior teeth and the gum line.
Daily routine. The strips are designed for simple daily use, so consistent oral care doesn’t depend on brushing or on a dog chewing evenly across every tooth.
What to Expect
What to Realistically Expect
Oral care is gradual, and every dog is different. Used consistently as part of a daily routine, many pet parents notice fresher breath first, followed over time by a cleaner-looking mouth. Prodogi is designed for ongoing maintenance rather than a one-time fix — consistency matters more than any single use. Results vary from dog to dog, and Prodogi is not a substitute for professional veterinary dental care or for addressing an existing dental condition with your veterinarian.
Quality
Made and Tested Responsibly
Prodogi strips are made in the USA. They are formulated to be all-natural and zero-calorie, with no ultra-processed fillers, no artificial dyes, and no GMOs. Because they are intended for daily use, we formulate them to be gentle for everyday oral care.
Suitability
Who It’s For
Prodogi strips are intended for dogs 12 weeks of age and older, of all sizes and breeds. They are not intended for cats, as they have not been tested in cats. If your dog has an existing dental or medical condition, is pregnant or nursing, or is taking medication, talk with your veterinarian before starting any new supplement.
FAQ
Common Questions
How do I give my dog a strip?
Let your dog take the strip directly, or place it along the gum line. The strip is designed to adhere and dissolve on its own — no brushing required. If giving it directly isn’t practical, it’s okay to offer it alongside food.
How often should I use it?
Prodogi is designed for once-daily use as part of a consistent oral-care routine.
Is it safe for daily use?
Yes. Prodogi is formulated for daily oral care. As with any supplement, consult your veterinarian if your dog has a health condition or takes medication.
How is this different from chews and powders?
Chews and powders are chewed or swallowed and tend to clean only the surfaces a dog actively bites with. A strip is designed to dissolve and distribute through saliva, so it can reach more of the mouth, including the gum line and back teeth.

How We Think About Evidence
We aim to describe our product honestly. The ingredient descriptions above summarize published research on those compounds — that research is about the ingredients, not a guarantee of results for any individual dog. We distinguish between compound-level research and product-level outcomes, and we don’t present one as the other. If you have questions about the science, reach us anytime at info@prodogi.com.
